5 Reasons why Runners Day is a day to celebrate

There cannot be enough reasons to celebrate Runners Day, yet we have five reasons:

- Tribute to the running legend - Late ShivNath Singh:
For those who are not aware of the running legend, Shivnath Singh is one of the best long-distance runners of India and the former Asian Games Gold medalist. With an unbreakable record of 2:12:00 hrs set since 1976, this Arjun Awardee also has a couple of honours under his name. The Runners Day is a memoir of his victories and impeccable compassion for the sport, hence is celebrated on his birthday - 11th July.
While the internet covers less on the life and struggles of this legendary runner, his achievements speak for him more than anyone could!

- Cherish the victories of the runners:
Runners, unlike the other sportsperson, do not get grave recognition on a global level. While the rising popularity and awareness about the sport have opened the floor for the Runners across the world, there is yet a long way to go. The Runners Day is a day to embrace the months of struggle and hard work behind that one run and render limelight on the victories of the runners.

- Embrace the passion to run:
Due to the rising awareness about the benefits of running, there is a lot of pivotal passion witnessed among the young generation. Filled with energy, they are all set to explode in any direction they are moulded towards. This day is a little push for the beginner runners and embrace that budding passion.

- A step towards physical and mental health:
A best excuse to get up for a run and shed off those extra loads you’ve put on while staying at home, the Runners Day comes as a deal-breaker to all the weight gains you have experienced. Coming with immense health benefits - both physical and mental, running is the best thing you can do in order to maintain a better lifestyle. All you need to do is leave the lethargy behind and a pair of shoes to start off the track!

- Individual yet universal change:
Rightly said - It all starts with one person and one moment, this day is an initiative to bring about a positive change in the world. The benefits of this sport are plenty which will certainly lead to a major healthy lifestyle change once someone starts implying. Our intent is to add everyone to the healthy body and healthy mind regime and to leave no one left behind!
