Is running in this COVID-19 Pandemic Dangerous?
  • 08 July 2020

With the runners day is approaching, runners might have the doubt whether running in World Run is correct decision or not, whether is it safe or not.

Let’s clear the air first, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GO RUN OUTSIDE, of course keeping in mind certain precautions. Most of the countries have permitted their citizens to move freely outside, except in few containment areas. It is completely a safe decision to run on this Runners day keeping in mind these fewprecautions mentioned below:

- Stay at least 10 feet awayfrom others: This is the most important thing to keep in mind during current situation of COVID-19. Maintain a safe distance of at least 10 feet from, in order to not breathe in the same environment other people are breathing in. So, maintaining a safe distance should be the top priority in your mind in current situation.

- Always wear a mask if you’re running at any public place: Wearing mask is must for everyone right now, even while you’re running. You just need to make sure you wear a mask which is breathable. Choose masks made up of material like cotton, or linen in order to breathe properly.

- Avoid touching any shared objects/things: Keep in mind where ever you’re running, don’t touch anything over there which you think others have touched, and always carry your water bottle and napkin. If you’re running in a park, you need to keep in mind to not sit on benches. And DON’T SHARE YOUR WATER BOTTLE WITH ANYONE.

- Choose a safe place and time for running: Since, World Run is a virtual running event, you’re free to choose where you want to run. So, selection of place and time is a personal opinion. The only thing you need to keep in mind is to select a safe place and time. Choose a less crowded place/park/road if you’re planning to go run outside.

- Don’t forget to Sanitize: Always carry your hand sanitizer when you go out for a run. Make sure bathing is the first thing you do when you come back home, and DON’T FORGET TO SANITIZE YOUR SHOES AFTER EVERY RUN!

This Runners day, run in a safe environment, and create a safe environment for others to run just by following these above precautions. Let’s run and fight with COVID together with the whole world.
