We are very delighted to announce that on July 11th, 2021, we will once again commemorate the birth anniversary of the National treasure Late Mr.Shivnath Singh, India's pride in athletics, has remarkable successes in athletics and has represented India twice in the Olympics and Asian Games. In the name of Shivnath Singh, his record in the men's marathon of completing a full marathon in 2 hours 12 minutes has been unblemished for over 43 years.
He has been running barefoot all his life and has inspired a million people around the nation. Shivnath Singh was the embodiment of endurance, with the guts and drive to conquer all hurdles and train like a workhorse. Even with his painful face and taped feet (no shoes), he pushed himself closer to the finish line and achieved immensely including the Arjun Award.
Unfortunately, we lost the hero on 6 June 2003 because of chronic disease. India has produced some famous athletes who have challenged every opportunity to climb the peak of perfection, and Shivnath Singh is a memorial of this league of remarkable people forever.
Let us remember Lt. Shivanth Singh's legacy, bravery, and fearlessness by celebrating Runners Day on July 11, 2021.
