He just didn’t ever slow down.
Keep up the pace, keep up the spirits, we are celebrating Runners Day on the 11th July this month, in memory of the person who just didn’t slow down. The one who competed barefoot throughout his running career.
Mr Shivnath Singh, born in Majharia, Buxar, Bihar in India, a proud Indian runner who represented India twice in the Asian games and twice in the Olympics, he just didn’t slow down, and we just kept looking at him smiling with his eyes with glory and victory.
The safety, well being and honour for India was always first for him, a country lives by the breaths of soldiers serving for the army, Shivnath Singh also served in the Indian army and proved to be of utmost glory and a complete asset to the nation. Still stands his record for marathon unbroken since 1978. We never saw that grand era of distance running after the iron runner with a heart of gold turned into a legend. In 2003, unfortunately an era passed away with him. The man who had seven siblings in a poor family but still managed to make a heart in each and every heart.
Let’s remember him on this 11th July, on the legend’s birthday once again and tell everyone who don’t remember that Indians hold much more glory than any other nation. You must not only have competitiveness but ability, regardless of the circumstance you face, to never quit like Shivnath Singh.
On your marks, get set and get running.
