Runners Day will be a celebrated reminder of the compassion, strong will and victorious endeavours of the legendary runners all across the globe who glorified their hard work with flying colours. Celebrating this day on 11th July is an attempt to take forward their legacy and showcase our gratitude to one of India’s best distance runners, Arjun awardee and the former Asian Games gold medalist - Late Shivnath Singh. What another day to be celebrated as Runners Day than 11th July - his birthday! A souvenir to the legend who left a yet unbreakable record of 2:12:00 hrs set in 1978, this day embarks as the memoir of his glorious victories and passion for the sport.

Our Mission

Running as penny-plain it seems is actually a gatherer of simplers. Commingling of the right technique, strength, pace, posture, and the right diet and patience and endurance towards pain, a runner has to master in all the spheres to be the best of their endeavours. The mission is to celebrate these triumphs of the runners all across the world and to take lessons of self-motivation from these driven individuals just like our lion-hearted and steel-willed Shivnath Singh. The purpose of celebrating this day is to acknowledge the efforts of the individuals who need a slight push to kickstart their running journey. It is a day to uplift the runner blues and encourage the runners to take pride in not giving up and in the discipline they’ve incorporated in their life. From sacrificing the drool-worthy delicacies to missing out on their social lives for the tedious practice sessions, there is a long journey behind the stamina and their accomplishments. Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor was the runner’s compassion for running!

Times have changed and people are more aware of the benefits of a healthy body and healthy mind. We tend to celebrate this day as an initiation to lead the world on the path of the greater good. Let’s entice the power of unification through collective efforts and bind the beliefs of developing bonds, supporting each other, sharing positivity, and running as one. Face Behind Runners Day Ideation

Such initiatives can only be taken when you have a compelling desire for the cause. A man of impetuous passion towards the runners in the World, Mukesh Mishra holds an enormous experience of 20 years in the field. Hailing from Jaipur, he wanted to make a dent in the World by uplifting the sport and recognise the runners all across the world.

He has acclaimed a yet affixing list of accomplishments under his name. A cherished emblem to his name is the Jaipur Marathon to which he is the founder and CEO. It is known to be the biggest marathon with international accreditation after its venture received the heck this line award in London as Best marathon in India.

He galvanised the masses towards keeping the muscles to action through running and cycling and making them realise the importance of a healthy lifestyle. A man on the mission to bring cycling and running evolution in India, he started various running movements in Rajasthan like the Jaipur’ Runners Community, Jodhpur - Mount Abu and various other events and activities.

Taking his enthusiasm about fitness to reach the masses he also founded Jaipur Cyclothon and precisely for the budding cyclists he also founded the Kids Marathon. He is the co-founder of 20 Minutes of Running as well as the founder of Jaipur Runners Club with more than 800 active members to promote fitness through running.

He has elevated this enthusiasm in him to another level and it doesn’t cease to surprise us all with the ideation of Runners Day where we all collectively celebrate and embrace the enticing endeavours of all the Runners all across the World. A vision to bring a positive change in the world, the Runners Day will be one such honorary day to drop the town in sweat!
